Volunteers
Please click below for a video reviewing many of the volunteer duties the Boosters have to offer.
No matter your time availability
or talent we can use our help!
If you are available during the day, consider helping at band camp or in the uniform room.
We need people who are good with organization, some that can do minor sewing, some that can use a tape measure, people to put up tents or supply water.
Helping out after football games when the uniforms need to be re-racked is perfect for those night owl people. Come for the game or just show up towards the end of the game and stay until all the uniforms are put away for the next event.
Roadies help load equipment and move props. We can always use tow drivers to help spread out the work.
Chaperones are needed for games and competitions. They ride the bus and help with general student needs.
We also need folks to help with fundraisers and merchandise.
Reimbursements
and Receipts
Did you make an approved purchase for the band boosters?
Did you use your booster debit card and need to send our Treasurer a receipt?
Use this link to submit reimbursement requests or receipts for recording. For purchases using the band account please put the name of the store/company where it says "First Name."
All volunteers are required to complete FCPS volunteer training, which can be found by clicking the link below. A volunteer handbook is available HERE. Las instrucciones de entrenamiento en español están disponibles AQUÍ. You will need to first register using the link below. Then you will have access to the "course" which you will need to register for. This doesn't always appear immediately. You may wish to register one night and then check the next day to see if you have access to the course. There is no cost. The course is an approximately 20 minute video. You will then answer the questions at the end and the information will be automatically sent to FCPS. You will receive a confirmation of completed course by email. Please send that confirmation to Jason Milke at jasonmilke@linganoreband.org so that he can track those that have completed the training. Thank you!
Overnight trip chaperones are required to provide additional information, including fingerprinting. You must complete the same training as above, but additionally submit this Overnight Chaperone Form which you will return to the band director. You will then be contacted by FCPS Human Resources to schedule fingerprinting. Do not wait until the last minute to do this. If you are selected as an overnight chaperone, please submit the form as soon as possible.

Budget, Treasurer Reports & Minutes
Budget
The 2025-2026 Budget can be found by our current band families HERE.
We pride ourselves on transparency and encourage all parents to attend our meetings, read our emails, newsletters, and other communication. We plan ahead for major purchases (such as in 2020/2021 when the band needed a trailer, the Polaris, and new uniforms, all of which were in excess of $50,000.00). The funds we maintain in our savings account are there for anticipated future needs and to avoid the need for major last-minute fundraising.
We are always adjusting in an effort to keep our operating fees as low as possible, while ensuring success in the future.
We also have many parents that contribute extra out of pocket donations to help the program. As that will not necessarily always be there, our reserves help us to be able to offset in a year where donations are lacking.
Please remember that the board are parents too and we pay the same fees as everyone else. No one wants to charge more than we need to, but keeping in mind the potential for future needs or less successful fundraising events.
Treasurer Reports
At each regular monthly board meeting our treasurer presents a report of all the income and expenses for the prior month. The approved reports can be found below. Please note that the first one listed covers a period of two months. You will need to request viewer access for these documents, but copies are available at all regular booster meetings.

Student Statements
Our treasurer generally sends out students statements once a month from August to May. Not all credits for events may appear for several reasons, but your statement email should indicate any unusual circumstances. For questions about your student statements, balances due, or fundraising income, please contact our treasurer, Melonie, at the following email: meloniedeblock@linganoreband.org.
To make a payment on your statement, you can either submit a check payable to the LHS Band Boosters or cash (in an envelope labeled with your student name) to the black box in the band room. Alternatively, you can make an online payment through our Cheddar Up platform. Please note that e-checks are the lowest fee option.
2025-2026 Boosters
Please note that the August and October meetings will not follow the normal second Tuesday schedule due to scheduling issues. The meetings will now be August 5th (budget will be presented for formal vote at this meeting) and October 7th.
