Uniform Guidelines
Please refer to this photo for what you should wear under your bibbers & band jacket. Please be sure to have long black socks with no logos or patterns and wear your black band shoes for all competitions, parades, and concerts.

A visual guide to hanging the uniform is also available HERE.
Some of you may have received a hard copy of this book at the initial parent meeting. For those of you who did not, click on the image to access a PDF document for a guide on all things band--or at least most things band. A must read for everyone, but especially for new parents. Students may find the information in here helpful as well!

As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to a Boosters board member, come to a meeting, ask a fellow band parent, or contact the band director.
Concert Only Students
Concert only students, sometimes referred to as "Spring Only" even though they participate in the winter concert are students who are not participating in marching band, but do participate in the Symphonic Band performances at LHS. Most marching students get measured for their concert uniforms in the summer or fall, but often the concert only students do not get measured until shortly before the winter concert. If it is one week out from that concert and your student has not been measured or informed of their date for measurement, please contact a uniform room representative or the booster president.
Concert only students pay a fee of $125 which helps to cover the costs of their uniform, repairs, and dry cleaning. They generally will receive their completed uniform in a garment bag, which they keep at home. Males generally wear pants, cummerbund, bow tie, white shirt, and jacket. All of these are provided by LHS and are usually loaned items returned after the spring concert. There are return and cleaning instructions that will be provided at that time. Sometimes students do purchase a new white shirt. If that occurs there is an additional charge to cover the cost of that shirt. Since there are usually not too many concert only students, if they have appropriate black shoes, similar to what the band has, they can use those, but if not, we usually have enough loaner pairs in the uniform room, but be sure to let the volunteers know you will need them.
Concert only students are welcome to participate in the spring trip as long as FCPS regulations on participation are followed. Please speak to the band director before the spring trip RSVP date (typically early in the school year) to discuss.

2025-2026 Band Forms
In case you missed it earlier, here is the Google form for membership.
The contact information on this form is used for preparing student statements and for all other matters needed.
There are two sets of paper forms for completion for the 25-26 season in addition to the Google form above. These forms are distributed at the new parent information session and at the first full practice of the season (May 13, 2025). The first is a welcome letter from the band director which includes a calendar and commitment form. Please read this letter thoroughly as it contains very important information.
The second is a set of documents required by the Boosters and/or FCPS for our records, which we cannot maintain online, as well as our volunteer interest form. We would like even current parents who have volunteered in the past to complete this form for our records.
